Someone answered one of my questions and called me a dumdass. I know who cares? But it got to me for some reason and I feel like telling him off. I feel like revenge... or at least so he 'll stop calling people that. Is that like.... oh my....whatever?

Do not get revenge. You will only lower yourself to his level.

Yes you should report him. The CG's are clear about insulting other participants. He has no right to call you that. If you do not report him you are allowing this kind of behavior to continue on Answers.

Many people think this is some kind of open chat and discussion forum where anything goes.

It is never wrong to report legitimate violations.

I would if it was a continued event but sometimes people just type the way they talk and unfortunately some people do not have very creative vocabularies. Either write something to him so the's aware of the problem or monitor a few of his posts to see if he's constantly a jerk. If he is, or if he emails back and is really mean, I'd report abuse then. But remember- this guy is a stranger, who cares what he thinks about you?

The complaints people are constantly swamped. Just ignore it, so they can take care of some of the more obscene things. I have seen some racial and sexual things that were so much worse.

Revenge can only make it worse for you, unless you report them. Don't write a hateful e-mail or Thumbs down stalk them.

No, it isn't worth it. Accept that in life there will always be people who are small-minded and get their jollies by trying to upset others. If you report this guy, you will just be fanning the flames.

There's no need, it will be just a wastage of time. But I do think Yahoo should take steps to kick out such unnecessary answerers.
