use Disk Cleanup to remove temporary Internet files and offline web pages. It should be in your start menu,at least it is in mine.
Try to eliminate some of your music and photo files ,save them to a cd,or dvd so you won't lose them and delete them off your drive to create room.
Your screen memory is different than your hard drive memory on your computer, disk cleanup should solve that problem, under accessories-system tools..where you would also find disk defragmenter..this takes a while if your processor is slow but it is worth it
If all fails after going through this process to create more memory for yourself, buy a new memory card and have it installed professionally.
The reason why the "reboot' works is because it only temporarily frees up space for new screen memory, but it does not erase the memory blocks that are being used that has previously saved online web pages and Internet files which the "disk cleanup" which removes unnecessary files from your machine.
Pictures and music files do take up a lot of space on your computer, start saving them on cd's and /or dvd's.
