Finding out that there was more to the Bible than just the Bible. I was raised with the understanding that the Bible was the only book about God. Gotta love those Southern Baptist(smirk). I took what I learned in that experience and applied it in high school finding out "Hey" there's more than what they are teaching here and out of these lam books. I understand teachers need to teach but lets not be so closed minded about history. I hope history never stops changing. Let's just hope for positive change and not the end of the world.

The mid 90s, round about the time that New Labour and the Spice Girls were created...believe it or not the two are linked as their creation marked the begining of "style over substance".

Failing that, as people have said, 1914 is up there as it was the first time in history man found a mean (i.e. the machine gun) or killing others en masse.

When someone came up with the idea of call centres! is the one for me.
On a serious note though there are many moments in history that have changed our thinking guess it all began with someone wanting a bigger slice of the cake.
Today the big talking point is the realization that global warming will change everything.and is doing you only have to look at recent events in southern US to see what we can expect.

Recently, 9/11
Before, WWII
Before that maybe the signing of the Magna Carter (Which influenced all the revolutions there after-British, French, American, Colonial, Civil Rights...)
Which in turn came from Christ in 30ish A.D. He had these radical ideas of freedom and equality.
But probably the biggest step in it all was when man started using tools and as a result developed a thumb and started walking upright.

Maybe the Moon Landing, or Fire...the internet?

Interesting question, and I think 1914 is a good answer to. I sometime think the world went mad then.

No, in my opinion the whole world started to go down the pan the first time the Rolling Stones ever appeared on British TV. That's when it all seemed to start to go downhill. That is when Britain started to go down the pan, and we have sunk further every year since.

At some point someone decided they should be boss, in control, in charge and the rest of us should do what they say for no better reason than they say so no matter how insane or destructive the order is. They don't have to earn the position any more, or be more knowledgeable or able than the rest of us. That worries me.
