godzillas...though i get what you say...abuse cannot be the reason that men kill more than women in this way...that may be an contributing factor but not the reason...millions are badly abused and never kill...

women develop the urge to kill approx every 4 weeks, this has been proven in science and in my own personal experience is absolutly true. i would say that men kill more often than women defending themselves during the "fourth week". self defence, we will let the jury decide......................next !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Serial Killers are almost exclusively male.

I don't think there is any one reason, but as someone has said earlier testosterone could be a factor. Men generally tend to have a smaller social circle then women, and also tend to bottle emotions up. Most men I know would never think of talking about relationships the way that many women do with their friends.

This can make some men socially isolated, and without the influence of a wider social circle, no break to tell them that actually what they are thinking is really dangerous, and their reasoning can wander off into gaga land. Add into this a failed relationship or a perceived slight from a woman, and this can be a heady mix which occasionally sends a certain type of person into a psychopathic rage.

I just think that not enough women have guns ...

Women don't kill with their bare hands ... men often do

their (mens) type of force/violence is often more lethal ...

but in the case of serial killers ... it would be a bit harder for a woman to overpower someone by force ... which serial killers and rapists often do.

but like a few people said ..women are more clever ... a young female sitting astride a rich 90 year old man .. in my mind .. is maybe not the same as a serial killer (violence wise) but those 'black widows' are lethal... and murder is murder.

I believe that if women were as strong as men .. a lot more men would die ... at least monthly ..lmao.... actually im not joking ;-0

I mean ... a man could easily be ''bobbited'' in his sleep... happens... (just ...not to me as that would be such a waste)

this is too long a subject for y! answers... but thumbs up ... for asking a question with no candy floss

Men don't - they just get caught more often, and tend to kill strangers.

My theory is that men are more able to split themselves off into different parts. The part that releases the pent up anger periodically in the most heinous way, and the part which exists as a 'normal' member of society.

If you look at Ted Bundy for example he seemed to be fairly well adjusted very eloquent man, who did have relationships with the opposite sex. Yet he was kidnapping raping and killing young women whilst discussing this horrific crime with his reporter ex girlfriend (as an horrified observer).

To commit multiple murders you have to be have an antisocial personality disorder (formerly called sociopathy) - no real sense of right and wrong although aware of what society at large sees as right and wrong which is the reason they cover up their crimes.

Are women weaker for seeming not to have this within them?

No they are just different. They tend to kill those they know and are unfortunately better at concealing their crimes. Female serial killers will often go 8 years before detection as opposed to males 4 years.

So er...girl power...

It is basically down to evolution. You need to read a book called "Why Men Lie and Why Women Cry" by Allan and Barbara Pease.

Men and women have evolved different brain structures. Men have a predisposition towards hunting and killing-based skills, whereas women have a predisposition towards social skills. Couple this with a man's comparatively higher levels of testosterone compared to a woman, and you have the perfect recipe for an animal that is prediposed to kill.

People may say that men should be able to control their testosterone, but it's like saying women should be able to control their PMS (and some women in the US have got away with murder by pleading that their PMS made them do it). Compare, for example, the placid behaviour of a eunuch compared to a body-builder who injects steroids and you will understand what a powerful behaviour modifier male hormones are.

So you see, although we would like to believe that men and women are the same, the reality is that political correctness has nothing to do with factual correctness.

Most of the serial killers actually have a hatred towards women, so in return they kill more. Some kill prostitutes because they see them as degrading. Theyve looked into past killer lives such as Dahmer,Gacy, and usually say that most of them were abused as children however dahmer was not, so they say. Bundy said too much porn made him flip out, who knows. I think that some people's minds don't know how to rationalize right from wrong.I truly believe in my heart that there's no one reason why they flip, I think each case has it's reasons. I read Gacy said they deserved it, some said it was sexually driven. All I know is that we live in a sick world where once these guys go to jail, some marry, some sell art, some have pen pals, etc. Sick world isn't it?

Men are raised to not show their emotions. They are the "hunter," the family protector. They are supposed to be strong and silent.

Underneath they are seething with fury, hate, depression...all those emotions they are not allowed to express.

Some can't control their anger and take it out on a representative of the cause. An example is the serial killer who always targets women with long, dark hair who wear very high heels, and are out alone at night. This figure reminds him of his domineering mother whose expectations for him were vastly different from what he wanted.

Why do you think there are so many sports activities full of mock fights? Helps men with their aggression.

i did some research into this for an essay at uni, and wot i found was that women generally have otha responsibilities ie raising a family, and in decades gone before we have been conditioned to believe this is where our role lay, so there for would not jeopardize that bein imprisoned. Women form closer bonds to family members and as a result of bein criminal the suffer double jeopardy (this is when u r both punished by the penal system and also by family members/society) as it is more socially acceptable to b male and criminal than female and criminal. In addition to this, men r more aggressive naturally, and have less support from family and friends. also men have higher sexual desires and lower sexual control making it harder for them to control themselves.

this ansa could go on for eva, but hope that makes some things clearer or at least food for thought.

BEING ABLE TO KILL HAS BEEN AN IMPORTANT LIFE SKILL for the evolving human male to master.
Think about that. Men have protected women and children through the ages by killing other people on occassion. Obviously men must be able to detach themselves emotionally to be able to do this effectively. It's an evolved trait.
The trick is to be able to preserve this ability for times of war or for the critical protection of his family. Some men just fail to do this and they kill the innocent.

You get an answer for both of your questions with the above.....In sumary: Men kill to protect and they kill more than women because they have evolved to be more effective protectors of their families than women are. Obviously men need to have the ability to switch between "soldier" and "civilian" modes and some men don't have this ability.

I think it's the testosterone in men, but I also think there are more men who are disconnected socially because they generally don't have close friendships which involve confidentiality, advice-giving, shoulder-to-lean on....as most women do, generally. Because it doesn't just take testosterone to become a serial killer, it takes the mind-set of de-personalizing your victims, not seeing them as people but seeing them as objects. And if you don't have the social ability to relate to people closely, you are more likely to be able to see people as objects as oppposed to someone you would empathize with. These killers never empathize with their victims.....obviously, there are some women in this category, but I think the social lonliness of men contributes to this.
