ART OF SELF CONTROL-

Through the breathing techniques that are learnt and acquired through the practice of yoga, you will learn the much sort after art of self control.

It is something many wish for however very few are prepared to learn. You see for any real gains one is to acquire in yoga, self control is vital. Control comes about when all parts of the brain intertwine and work together. The conscious state and the subconscious state become one and the focus is centered and directed.

On a physical level, the breath plays a major role in this as it levels the heart rate into a smooth beat and oxygen is delivered on a regular supply to the brain and around the entire body. You are able to stay calm and the connections between the mind and body become stronger.

In a state of calm anything is possible, decisions can be made with clarity and precision. The self control learnt in yoga can be likened to the character in the movie - The Matrix. Keanu Reeves's character had the focus and control to break it all down and totally slow time down. He had rational thinking and everything worked without having to stop and think about it.

In big challenging situations he was able to set himself apart from the rest because of that focus and control. We know that it's only a movie however, but the concept is the same. Believe it or not.

That kind of control is available to anyone who makes the decision to improve and learn. It is something that will take time and isn't handed to you. It is only something you can do for yourself. It isn't easy however but anything that is good for you isn't easy anyway. If if was everyone would have self control and that's way they haven't.-

In the bodily sense start to do only what you want with your sense organs with out discriminating right or wrong with full humility for all the beings on this earth and universe.( this means that you should not feel any guilt after doing the thing)
In the sense of the mind close all the in coming and outgoing information either through the sense organs or organs of actions
In the sense of the self which is not you but the real part of the eternal spirit be in continuous awareness or perception of the eternal spirit and nothing else.
Self-control is automatically achieved

It is said that " True wisdom lies in knowing ones own nature over time". Just like how you need to about the guitar to take control and bring out tunes of your choice, you would also need to know more about your true self to be able to control it. Since you are unique, general techniques might not work well.

To seek self control, look for reasons that together brings peace and tears.

It's not as easy as just 'growing up'. I find this hard, and advice such as walking away or counting to ten doesn't work. If you make a real effort to see the other person's point of view this can help, and to a certain extent it does improve as you get older, but the best way is to work hard not to cause problems in the first place and to avoid them where possible. I know this isn't particularly helpful, but I will be interested to see if anyone comes up with a decent answer rather than platitudes or insults. Good luck!

There are many techniques. Meditation is one. Yoga is another. Whichever technique you use, the main thing is to DESIRE to control yourself. The desire should be there at all times, not just when you are in a good mood. Start out small, with things that you can easily control. For example, if you like chocolate, stop consuming chocolate for a week. Gradually build up to more important things like not losing your temper. Expect the process to take several months, at least, before you see any noticeable results.

-Admit you are angry.
-Recognize this is a common reaction to an overwhelming event. It is how you manage your reaction that makes the difference.
-Try to identify the related emotions that may be fueling your anger, (e.g., sorrow, fear.)
-Find appropriate outlets for your anger, (e.g., talk with family members or friends, seek counseling, get involved in activities to help other victims, etc.)
-Understand that it not just the actual event that drives your anger, but how you think about it.
-Develop a “positive” outlook and look for what can be done to help rather than harm.
-Stop, take a deep breath, visualize something peaceful or enjoyable, and try to relax for a few minutes.
-Avoid/decrease negative ways to cope, such as misuse of alcohol or drugs, or lashing out.
-Find an acceptable outlet, such as a hobby, exercise or sports.
-Distract yourself from continuing to think about the event -- call a friend, go to a movie.
-Keep a sense of humor.
-Turn off the TV and radio; play your favorite music.
-Keep to your daily routines as much as possible.
-Consult your doctor or a mental health specialist if your reactions continue to intensify, or you feel like doing harm to yourself or others.
-If you are seeing a mental health professional, be sure to share your angry feelings with him or her.

Self awareness is the key... Start doing everything consciously, not out of habit, small or little acts first, till the skill is acquired.

Repetition.

Set a goal before you....im sure you have one. And then ask yourself before doing every act of this act would be in the furtherance of that goal of yours.

i understand that it seems to be a very trivial process...but honeslty....like a person develops any habit just like that...and then the habit grips that person.....so the way you have put yourself into it, the same way you would get out of it.

Your mind can only and only divert, it can never be controlled. It can only be directed.

Repeat, repeat and repeat....people have attained god by repetition of his name.

BELIEVE ME, IT WORKS......
Best of Luck
