I'd like to know where sex is considered to be taboo. If people aren't having sex then the society does not grow or continue.

I'm not sure of any society where sex is considered a taboo, but Wikipedia defines a taboo as “…a strong social prohibition (or ban) against words, objects, actions, or people that are considered undesirable by a group, culture, or society….”
This being said, a sexual act that is considered a taboo is usually based on a religious standard.
For example, people that believe in Jesus, and believe the Bible is the word of God, condemn homosexuality because it was defined as a sin as far back as Sodom and Gomorrah, and was further defined as an abomination in the New Testament. Since it's an abomination in the eyes of God, it’s automatically considered a taboo in Christian societies.
Other sexual acts, such as masturbation, sodomy, fellatio, and cunnilingus are considered taboos based on religious and moral beliefs as well, but most of these types of taboos are based on denominational ideals or social standards rather than Biblical facts when speaking of the relationship between a husband and wife.
In religions that follow other teachings than the Bible, their taboos are based on what that particular religion or society feels is right and what is wrong as well, such as requiring a woman to wear a veil over her face in public, or prohibiting the killing of a cow or pig.

Good question! It used to not be this way. In many other societies (like romans) sex was open and free and not taboo at all.
But that changed when people started killing people in the name of 'Christianity' and tried to convert the world to the religion. Then they made up these silly laws because they were suffering from heat exhaustion in their desert homelands (it really fried up their brains and made them believe all sorts of whacky things)
They then invented this 'religion' and it's really the culptrit against natural and normality (aka homosexuality). So, Christianity is to be blamed mostly. It's after-effects effect people to this day, being ashamed of celebrating their bodies, etc...when that's not our nature. Our nature is to love one another and have sex with each other.
