I am afraid not. They say he could better David Craig. They have perhaps not noticed that the differene David Craig's presentation has to do with the change concept of the role. Unlike his predecessors it is not merely heroics with fancy secret weapons.I feel Hritik would have perhaps been better if the old concepts prevailed. Against David Craig he would look as childish(nothing to do with Craig's and Hritik's abilities but the conceptual presentation of the role.) If Hritik were to mimic Craig he would look ludicrous.
SRK would make a better alternative.

In my opinion Akshay Kumar is more perfect than any other hero in bollywood to fit the bill. He has all fighting stunts, comedy skills (I dont know about bond does have it or not).
