Ifyou work for a small local business, have just come out of hospital, and are likely to be off work for 8 weeks, is it legal for the employer to drop the salary to a paltry £70.00 per week when the employee has worked there 10 years, and usually earns £350.00 per week?

How can you justify being paid for not working, your boss is not running a Charity, try running a small business your self and see how bloody difficult it is, my over heads are crippling me, get real, your boss is probably paying someone else to do your work, count yourself lucky you are getting £70 per week.

in the journey that they only did not pay her for a days paintings as she became off then no, they do no longer ought to pay someone at the same time as they are off paintings, its beside the point no matter if she became searching after a ill newborn or no longer, thats no longer their concern. If she is on income and receives paid montly and they deducted her pay by using an afternoon, it fairly relies upon what it says in her settlement, i'd imagine the corporate can do what he desires, because on the right of the day is your chum going to threat dropping her job, visit a business tribunal, threat no longer even getting some thing back only for the sake of a days pay ? it type of feels mercenary i understand, yet agencies only won't be able to have adequate money to pass round paying those who're no longer at paintings, in the journey that they did each human being will be at it and agencies would go bust. placed your self of their footwear, in case you had a decorator coming for your living house that charged an universal fee, he comes monday to friday (even with the very undeniable truth that misses wednesday), he finishes the job and also you get a bill for 5 days paintings, what would you do ?

Statutory Sick Pay is only about 70 per week, many larger employers offer contractual sickpay as an added benefit, whereby they will pay you your full salary while you are off sick, but you are not entitled to this, if your company offers it at all then it will be discretionary. if it is not referred to in your contract then you are screwed
