If you are the receiver here is the drill:
First - ask the sender the control number (that is the 10-digit code confidentially kept).
Second -make sure that you have with you a valid identification card (driver's liscense, passport, etc.).
Third - locate the nearest Western Union cashing center, sometimes you can find them in big banks.
Fourth - if you have located one, then ask for a Western Union Receiving Form, for sure they have one.
Fifth - fill up the form withe the necessary information (name and address of the sender, name and address of the receiver, and the control number). Submit the form to the clerk.
Sixth - most likely, the clerk will ask you for your ID. Show the proof that you are the person.
Seventh - you will now received the money and you have to countersign the receive form one more time.
Eight - you're ready to go congratulations.
Ninth - should you have any other enquiries, visit www.westernunion.com

Western Union is safe. If, however you are paying the money to someone in New Zealand with a bank account ask them to supply you with their bank details and do an International Money Transfer through your bank. This is the safest and least expensive way of transferring funds. I would not advise you to use Paypal.

if you're in india and are the recipient tell the sender to go to any western union office
some are in check cashing locations, some in supermarkets
they fill out a form
usually the only info they need to provide is recipients name and city
give teller money
thats it
if you're receiving you fill out a form for recipients
provide name of sender, where funds are coming from, and the amount
be sure to have id
usually it takes about 15 min
that's it
