There is a new post in our company. I want to apply for it so I emailed my boss to ask him if he can be my referee. Do you think he will be angry? does not seem to be quite logical, doesn't it? What should I say?

I have already told him that I don't that post anymore, but just for updating my cv. And I told him that I love my job and my boss.....

What else should I say?

Thanks

Nothing. You have said enough. The ball is now in his court. React accordingly.

If you are right about the situation, DO NT BACK DOWN!!.
He or she will respect you for it. Bosses are so used to employees kissing their butts but when an employee stands up for what they believe in, its refreshing to them to know that they have an employee with some back bone. You might even get a raise. Look him in the eye and don't stutter or stammer, tell him straight forward, but only you know what you should say.

Not at all. If he is a good boss, he will encourage you to have promotions. Be careful. If he seems to think that harm will come to you, listen. I did take a promotion and got injured because I did not listen to my boss.
