The milk ducts and glands are fully formed and ready to produce milk by 16 weeks of pregnancy. The reason it is formed so early is in the case that a preemie is born. The milks nutrition, matches that of the infant be it a preemie or a full term baby. A mom of a preemie may express milk with a breast pump and bottle feed the preemie since it is usually to weak to nurse.
The nutritional needs of an infant changes daily and so does the mothers milk accordingly.
Breast milk "dries up" some time after the mother stops nursing or pumping. Certain medications may have the same effect as well so always ask your doctor before.
Every woman who gives birth can usually secrete milk, even if she is sixty.

It usually depends on how much milk is in your breasts. Stimulation to your breasts can cause leakage before birth. You can keep feeding as long as you want as long as that is the only source of milk. After birth if your breasts are full which they will be a lot you will leak milk as well. Secretion will stop about 3 weeks to 1 month after you stop breastfeeding as long as you don't stimulate the milk out and let it come out naturally don't let the shower hit your breasts don't let your husband play with them lol.

I started just before my child was born and nursed him til he was 6 months old then switched him to a bottle because my milk began to stop. Usually as long as the baby is nursing a woman can secret milk. Sometimes, something goes wrong and milk stops being created. At least he got all his colostrum and antibodies he needed the first 6 months of his life.

well it all depends. on each persons body.
for some it starts by the mid of eight month but verry littel and for some after the birth.
ending is all on the Baby, some babys take milk till 1.5 years and till then the milk comes.
These days all the doctors suggest that a Baby should be only and only on Mothers milk till 6 month not even water as it could harm the imum system of the baby.
try it you will for sure have a healthy baby.
good luck

Can produce colostrum shorlty before birth. Milk "comes in" about 3 days after birth. Milk dries up after breastfeeding is finished.

Mothers can make milk as long as they have a baby (or a breastpump) that is stimulating them to make milk. I don't think age has anything to do with it.

in case you only supply up, you're going to wade through from very sore breasts. you ought to of weaned her off steadily. in case you wean off steadily over a week or so. Then this is going to take round a week + for the milk to dry up.
