Whoever finds a friend finds a treasure! Get a friend to listen as you unload your grief! who can that be? Your mom, your dad your family(not your brother LOL). Whatever is making you feel low pour your heart out,cry if you must, create a river if you have to but let it go.
Now the plus with your parents is whatever the problem is will remain a secret coz your shame will also be their shame. Now if you confide to a friend there is a good chance that your problem can be worst coz in my experience, these friends, will also seek the advice of other friends thus exposing your problem to the whole world-then you'll feel down again LOL.

I would suggest a really trustworthy and loyal friend or family member...or perhaps even a siginificant other. Make sure you do approach this special person/s and express to them how you are feeling, don't keep it to yourself...it's not good for your health. It's a thing I need to do more but I find it difficult, I know it's hard but try, you will feel much better for it.
Take care

you have a network of friends and you should use them all when you are feeling low, you should also include your family. if you are not feeling your best they will all want to help you. I know i would feel sad if a close mate of mine said "I have haed a really hard time the last few weeks" and they hadn't asked for help.

Personally I don't cry to anyone, I cry to myself & then b*tch to everyone else about my problems which seems to work well. If you cry people tend to get stuck for something to say but if you get the crying out of the way 1st & then just moan about it minus the tears you'll find people are more responsive!
