You mean the surface area? First off, it always helps to draw a diagram. Now, because it is a box, there are six sides. You need to find the area of all of the sides and add them all up. So, let's say the first side is 1 1/2 ftx10 in (18x10 in) AREA=LENGTHxWIDTH. 18x10=180. So the area of the first side is 180. Again, because this is a box, there will be another side with the exact same dimentions (as you'll see with a diagram, or simply, by looking at a kleenex box or somehting similar). So you can add the first side and the one exactly like it. 180+180=360. The next two sides measure 1 1/2 ftx5 in (18x5 in). 18x5=90. 90+90+360(from the last part)=540. The last two sides measure 10x5 in. 10x5=50. 50+50+540(the total from the last part)=640 inches. It's best to convert this to feet (since it's in inches) so you divide 640 by 12, which equals 53 1/3 feet. 1/3 of a foot is 4 inches. So, the surface area is 53 ft 4 in.

Actually, ten-pen bowling is 41.5 inches wide, with a 2 foot pin deck, 60 foot lane and another 15 feet behind the foul line, that is if you are playing on a regulation alley.
