Alien Christmas Movie for Kids?

In the late 70s/early80s there was a childrens movie, probably a tv movie cos it looked very cheap, where a couple of kids living in rural america get visited by an Alien at christmas time. The alien (a man in a green woolen outfit) showers them with candy and becomes their friend. Does anyone know what this movie is. I remember that they lived where it was cold and snowy and I think the kids were brother and sister. Anyone know what movie I am talking about?

not sure about that one, but there's one from the 60's called Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. It's cute for kids to watch
