Ugh, silverfish (to me) are those hideous bugs that eat anything and everything including plastic and plaster, clothing, paper, wood, anything and live in dark places like your shoes and the closets and in the food cupboards. Generally, it's when you don't do anything to exterminate them then they breed like crazy.

Keep plenty of rocks handy in your front yard, lots of moist areas, or if you want to have them indoors, lay down carpet, leave for 15 years, remove carpet. You can also try having damp wallboard, they love to breed in there.
