How old are you?
Usually, in the first few years when you have menstruation, there will be irregularities because your pituitary - gonadal axis is not yet mature. Sometimes you have prolonged bleeding, sometimes you skip a period and sometimes you have spotting due to hormonal imbalances. It usually corrects itself later in life.
if you are quite mature and still you have menorrhagia (heavy bleeding), maybe stll, you have hormonal problem, or Vit K deficiency, or any blood clotting problem.
Have yourself examined before you shrink like a prune due to lack of blood.... Goodluck!

you need to see doctor, no woman should be bleeding for a month. if you have not had a pap in the last year, then you will most likely get one. of course they are going to have to examine you, how else do you think they can find out what is wrong and help you. it could be many different things, see a doctor

the problem is that you are probably still young. in this case you have a calcium deficiency and this is the cause for your long periods. all you will have to do is take one pill on calcium for a while and everything will be fine. If you are over 18 you might have a hormonal imbalance in which case you will be prescribed some birth control pills after the doctor checks you and determines which product suits you. in either case the condition is not serious.

I am not a girl. But I think you should see a doctor instead of getting opinions or people's experience here.
