you mean by the red light cameras or by a cop? if its a cop - you should have gotten a copy... if you got caught by a red light cam.. i'd think 30 days, maybe longer.

The responsibility is on you.
Due to dire circumstance, I let mine go as I waited for my courtesy notice, and then it kept slipping my mind. One+ year & over $600.00 worth of fines later...
In the end, I called to find that I had indeed been sent 2 courtesy notices AND a failure to appear-all sent to the wrong address, it was all retuned to them. Once that ticket is in your hand YOU and you alone are responsible for follow through.Make the first call & don't put it off.
I was busy with family health crises, and am lucky my license was not suspended, it should have been under their guidelines, and I never wouild have known because the address on my ticket was mis-read.
That is why they are called "courtesy notices", the responsibilty is yours and the judge has no interest in whether you received one.
I was however able to document extraordinary circumstances & get my fine reduced by $200.00 as well as a low monthly payment until it's payed off.
I was even offered the option of Community Service, but family obligations made that impossible.
Your best hope is to take the upper hand and be the one to call & get it taken care of! It will ease your mind a lot!
