Frankly I would argue the opposite.

Its got a booming economy and population, a large and modern military, and its a nuclear power. Yet it doesn't exert even a fraction of its actual REAL political clout.

Either because of naivetés as a global world power, or because its simply not interested in becoming regarded as another United States, India has shown astonishing restraint in its relations with other nation-states.

Hopefully that will last...

India because of its booming economy and military superiority is not exerting its stature in South Asia.
