You tell them about a fat white man carrying a bag full of gifts, called Santa Clause, making your kids to believe that ONE MAN will cover the every city ONE NIGHT and access houses through chimneys. Why can't you SIMPLY TELL YOUR KIDS, that you bought them this gifts, and Santa Clause is a MYTH, just like the Bible. It is cruel, and mean that you are lying to your kids. I know they grow and learn themselves the facts, but imagine if that kid dies before he even relies that Santa is fake, won't you feel guilty, not telling your kid the trueth?

The Bible is not a myth. How do you know that LYING is wrong if you don't believe in the Bible?

Santa Claus may be a myth, but you accusing parents of lying to their kids is not going to make Santa Claus go away.

Not all Christians celibrate Christmas in the manner with Santa Claus. And you know even if they do it is their choice to. And the kids find out the truth eventaully and no one is hurt by it. My parents told me that santa existed when I was little....I now know the truth. But am still glad that they did it...Kinda made it a little more magical than just oh you bought me something.

Not all Christians lie to their children, but most do it out of love not because they want to "lie". The idea of Santa Claus gives children something to believe in, it also helps them to keep a small vestige of their innocence. I, as a Christian, feel that it's much more important to tell children about the real reason for the season. It's about Christ, not Santa, but I don't see Santa as a threat. You are fully entitled to your opinion on raising children, but so is everyone else. What one parent decides to tell their children may be extremely different than another parent, and this can be based on facts, on beliefs, or simply on what their parents before them did.

What are you saying !!!!
There's no Santa Claus?
I suppose that next you're going to try and tell us that there's no Easter Bunny ..... and no Tooth Fairy.

Get real!!....Of course there's a Santa Clause. I've seen him. You really have to get out more, my friend.

Oh yeah.....and watch who you're calling "fat"..... that's not nice. Santa won't bring you any presents if you're not nice.

Merry Christmas !!!

"HUMANS NEED FANTASY TO BE HUMAN. TO BE THE PLACE WHERE THE FALLING ANGEL MEETS THE RISING APE.
"Toothfairies? Hogfathers? Little—"
YES. AS PRACTICE. YOU HAVE TO START OUT LEARNING TO BELIEVE THE LITTLE LIES.
"So we can believe the big ones?"
YES. JUSTICE. MERCY. DUTY. THAT SORT OF THING.
"They're not the same at all!"
YOU THINK SO? THEN TAKE THE UNIVERSE AND GRIND IT DOWN TO THE FINEST POWDER AND SIEVE IT THROUGH THE FINEST SIEVE AND THEN SHOW ME ONE ATOM OF JUSTICE, ONE MOLECULE OF MERCY. AND YET— Death waved a hand. AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME… SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED.
"Yes, but people have got to believe that, or what's the point—"
MY POINT EXACTLY."
Terry Pratchett, Hogfather

The Hogfather is the discworld equivalent of Father Christmas, and the above quote was in response to the question "why do we need the Hogfather.

I'm Atheist, my son's dad is Muslim and we both taught our son about Santa Claus! You don't have to be Christian to give your child a dream;)...Children have the right to believe in Santa Claus, in Elves, Fairies etc etc..and you know why? Because they're children! And chilhood is the only magic time in life where you're allowed to believe in good things and dreams, because then you'll have to grow up one day (you like it or not) and the world will hit you with all its cruelty and sadness! And if you haven't been taught about good things and about dreaming when you were a kid, you'll never be able to hope in a better future!

Children are innocent and their world is innocent too...Bring them up with good values, teach them about good human beings setting good examples for them and they'll become good human beings too once grown up. Peace.

Ummm, its everyone that does that you realize. Santa Claus isn't a Christian myth, it's a Pagan one.

Not to mention, considering you meant this as a religious slam, you might like to take it to the religion section.
