No. Some are well educated but many are not. Many know just as much as the average guy. But, there are the idiots who consume themselves with celebrity gossip and idolize them. Those people are the ones who don't take what they hear with a grain of salt and are easily brainwashed in masses.

I care If they speak really witty things like Sharon Stone. She is much involved into politics, she is befriends with Hillary Clinton and shares much with Elton John's policy (LOL, not gay one), but helping out kids and etc.
Otherwise she wouldn't co-host a Nobel Prize award on December 10, just three days ago.
I don't know any other relevant examples exept Sharon.
Once I was impressed hearing what she said about the Check Republic and its policy. She knows about Velvet Revolution, my God, she is a real pacifist.
I love this woman.
Lol: if just ask Lindsey for opinion of Velvet Revolution, she would probably say: what, where revolution, what is revolution... and the last question: where is europe, to the right or to the left of America?

Only if they can prove in the first five sentences that they know what they are talking about (-:. I'll give them 10 sentences if I happen to agree with their politics.
The line between politics and acting is very fuzzy though, so sometimes you have to pay extra special attention to what the person does, as opposed to what the person says. You never know when that celebrity is going to get into the Governor's Mansion or the White House!

Absolutely not. People who work in the entertainment industry shouldn't be allowed to campaign for or against politicians (or parties) and shouldn't be allowed to speak up on political issues. They are no more qualified to talk about them than I am (and I'm not) but people will listen to them. People idolize celebrities and when they are speaking on political issues, people will stupidly take their word as fact, rather than relying their own sense. Good question, by the way!

It isn't that I really "care" what celebrities think but sometimes I am curious as to what front they stand on. I feel the same about some of their religious following. I guess its a matter of seeing how real they really are.

No who could care less about what celebrities have to say about anything. I mean they are paid to say it anyway and even if it was so true I'm too jealous of the truckload of money they make to listen and like anything they say.

Nope... just because their celebrities doesn't mean their opinion is more important or informed that the person that lives next door.
Oh silly me, the guy that lives next door was a candidate in the last election!

Sure. If I had the two things you need to have a voice (TIME & MONEY) I would try to discuss things more often or get active with other people. Stars were people once like us , they still are just like us.They just have those two things.

Sometimes they have interesting things to say. The thing is if you like celebrity you are more interested in what they have to say rather than the politicans themselves. (Not all the time just sometimes)
