Dear friend,
Excellent question ! I am sure this is common to most of us.
I have devised a theory called 'FWDB' . This has helped many of my friends caught in similar situations.
This stands for 'Faced Worse , Did Better.'
The followers of this theory believe that, in the past , people had faced worse than you are experiencing right now, & Did Better than you are doing right now !
That's it. 'Faced Worse yet Did Better' !
Be calm , be confident. If you've prepared well , there is no need to worry. If you haven't , nothing can be done . So why worry ! why not enjoy the process & do your best .
All the best !!

The best way to lessen stress (because there's usually SOME stress during exams) you need to empower yourself BEFORE the exams. Stress is often due to a feeling of not having control in your own life. So, be super prepared, and more in control: 1. Study, (of course), but concentrate your studies on your weakest areas. Gain control of the information that makes you feel unsure. 2. Learn about the exams. You should know as much as possible about them---how they look, formats, where you're taking them, etc... Gain control of your image of the exams. 3. Envision yourself doing well. Get prepared, and then think positively! Gain control by believing in yourself and look forward to showing others what you know! It's about attitude, and a good attitude will free your mind to think clearly. 4. Chew gum. Gain control of stress by chewing. Studies show that students who chew gum do better on exams! Read the link below.

it's been a long time since I've been in that position but find myself in it now when I have a deadline looming.

It may sound obvious but the best thing to do is relax. There is nothing you can learn now that you haven't already so the best favour you can do yourself is turn up for the exam rested and feeling good.

If you can't sleep then don't try - if you succeed you will wake up groggy and tired. Have a long bath, drink some tea and eat something healthy. Think about other things. Sing. Dance. Relax.

I had this happen to me a couple of times during last week (the week of finals), my remedy was to drink a sugar-free red bull and do some yoga, read a non-related book, or (if you need it) study some more. I don't know about you, but when I have an early final and only a few hours to sleep, I find that it's better not to sleep at all. Good luck!

I am in the same situation! I'm in my dorm room, my roommate is peacefully asleep, and I'm completely stressed out about finals. This seems to be keeping my mind off of it a bit but I think I'm gonna drink some chammomile tea, watch some tv, and try to sleep again. Tazo brand Calm tea always puts me out right away. You should try some! I have my calc final in about 8 hours. Good luck on your finals! I hope all goes well for the both of us!

If at all possible try a warm milk drink, hot cocolate or some lavender drops on your pillow. You could try TV. Remember you have the knowledge, you may not think so but its there, read the questions thoroughly and slowly its better to answer less and be right than to rush and throw away marks. Good Luck!

Lay down and listen to music. Dont take anything! Just before your final exam take a few minutes and go over key points.....oh yeah, and pray....prayer works.
