Stop worrying as you will feel no pain during the internal exam,This will be to make sure the baby is well down for the delivery, and to check the softness of the cervix

I found them at most a little bit uncomfortable...but not really painful. Just try your best to relax, because it's when you tense up that it can be painful.
How it's done: basically, the doctor will put some KY onto two fingers on a gloved hand and put them into your vagina, up to your cervix to feel if there is any opening. S/he will tell you what is happening as it's done so as to try and help you relax...they won't just shove their hand in without telling you!! :D

Not at all. The more you worry, the harder it will be for them, as your muscles tighten.
They will use a clamp type instument. They will insert it closed, then open it so so they can se better. And they wil insert fingers to feel for baby's head.
Just don't worry. Hope you have a great birth. Keeping calm
is the key.

Well, it depends.... I would always breath through the exam, and was somewhat comfortable! You could also just tell the doctor when it hurts really band and he'll stop! No problem there. So, just tell your doc if you're scared and he'll go through it before and during the exam! Congrats!

I felt some slight pressure, not more than inserting a tampon. If you are worried please let them know before they start. Most are more gentle and slower. I hope all goes well with that and then the birth.

Its not painful but you do need to be relaxed, remember to breathe and try not to tighten your muscles.
