I know we can curl regular ribbon for little girl hairbows on a dowel to get that corkscrew look. With curling ribbon ( the type used to wrap Christmas gifts) could we wrap it on a dowel and and let it curl. If so, please explain how to do it please. I know normally you use scissors, but I don't want to take the time and curl all that ribbon.

If you use the method of running the blade of the scissors, or a butter knife across the ridges of the paper ribbon, holding it down with your thumb, you will see it only takes a second. This method is SO much simpler than curling it around a dowel.

I don't know if it would be quicker than using scissors, but if you want to wrap even "curling" ribbon around a dowel, I'd assume it will act like other materials and stay in that position if you heat it for awhile (low-med. oven, I'd guess). Allow to cool in position, then remove. Could try it anyway.
