you should have this checked out by your dr-back problems can get worse rapidly and if you ignore them-you might need surgery in the future.

for now-the ibuprofen works great b/c it has an anti-inflammatory in it to help reduce inflammation and swelling along with the pain.take 200-400mg every 6 hours but no more than 1200mg in 24 hours

when sitting-put a pillow between your back and the chair and ask your boss to provide you a footstool to put under your feet to help you sit up straight-if he/she is unable to provide you one-use phone books.make sure to get up every 2 hours to walk around and stretch. you can also wear a thermal heat pad that you can buy in the stores-they work with your body's own heat to provide relief (they can be found in the sports medicine section of most grocery stores-where ace bandages and ice pack are found).

when at home-apply a normal heating pad to your lower back for 15-20mins at a time every 3-4 hours. don't sleep with one of these b/c you could burn yourself and they are a fire risk if left on for too long.

make sure to get in to see your dr to make sure it's not a bigger problem such as a bulging or slipped disk or nerve problems...

There are any number of reasons why you would have back pain, from herniated discs all the way down to stress! There are all kinds of home remedies that give temporary relief that you can try. But the very best thing you can do for yourself is to see an orthopedist. That should really be the first thing on your list. He or she can refer you for an ex ray or an MRI so as to see inside and get to the heart of your problem. Untreated, any back problem will worsen and make your life miserable.

If finances are a factor, there are any number of clinics or doctors who would let you pay on a sliding scale. Don't delay..call someone today! Best wishes..

i use ibuprofen brufen 400mg and it works for me but sometimes i have to heat a hot wheat pack up. Buy a hot pack from your local supermarket or chemist they really work. Get a good matress and have a massage. Also get some xrays done to get to the bottom of the problem. I had xrays done a few days ago and now the docs know exactly what the problem is so they can try and fix it. good luck sore backs SUCK!!

R u about to start your monthly? Sometimes my back really hurts a wk or two before I start. If so, take midol. If that's not the case, try sleeping on the couch for a couple of days. If that helps then it is your mattress. Most mattresses are supposed to be flipped.

may be u have been working and sitting for many years in the wrong posture for too long too long... the result comes later...take medicine prescribed by your doctor... it may not be very serious... but to avoid major problems.. get up from your seat approx every hour, (1) stand behind your seat stretch your self twice with arms sky word,(2) move your legs up and down, don't worry about any one watching u, tell them this is doctors advise... etc u will feel relaxed, due to less tension to your body, and feel refresh, while sitting on chair your back should always be touching the back of seat
