Do you call to see if you got it or not? Can you call back to ask what the status of your application is?

My friend told me that what he did and they told him that he had the job.

I have applied for alot of jobs and no one ever calls me back.

Could this be the reason? Because i didnt call to see?

You can call and politely check on the status of your application, but wait at least a week, and try and keep it to one phone call per business. Showing interest is generally considered a favorable thing, pestering is not.

Here's an important tip- if you do get an interview, send a thank you note promptly afterwards. Nothing makes you stand out quite the same way. I've been involved in the interviewing process several times, and what I can tell you is that experience is generally the most critical thing looked at. If you don't have the correct experience, you won't hear back. So if you're new to job-hunting, this could be why you aren't getting a lot of calls, but keep trying.

Think about typing a cover letter to hand in with your applications, it's a nice way to highlight non-work experience and talents, like being in a club or having done volunteer work. It also lets a little of your personality through and helps you to stand out from the crowd. See the examples at monster.com for help.

Don't call to see if you got it.. Call back and ask for the status of the application.. i normally do the whole "i just wanted to check up on my application" 9 outta 10 times the manager will ask ya to come in for an interview.. cause they know you are interested

It is usually a good idea to follow up.

If you do get an interview it would be a good idea to send a Thank You card. You can briefly mention things from the interview and just get a chance to show appreciation.

Send the Thank You card after you get home ... so they get it right away.

Normally it is not required to call back. U may make a call to enquire but its not really required. If the company finds you suitable they revert immediately either in writting or orally. When confirmed orally you may receive confirmation in writting at a later stage.
Dont lose heart there are enough of jobs.!!
