If you're not planning to tell the truths, don't join the game in the first place. Tell the truth. Else, pick dare.

thats not really the point of the game. Either you dare them to do a dare or tell the truth. Who cares anyway

Truth is usually very flexible -- so you can usually twist it so you don't express something too embarrassing. Like, maybe the question is "When was your first kiss?" And the girl who thinks she's your first girlfriend is sitting next to you. But you've kissed other people (you dog, you!). So, you say, "I kissed my mom when I was about a year old." Or say you kissed your cat or something.
If you want to make everyone happy, choose something that's *slightly* embarrassing, but not too embarrassing.
And if you want to avoid it, choose the dare next time!
