No it is not.
The blood that is lost during her period is the blood that would of been used to make the child if she would of become pregnant. The blood that she looses when she cuts herself is her blood. Just the same kind as if you cut your finger.
The blood from a period has no DNA in it, unlike your or her blood, because it was meant for the unborn child. I could give you more of a detail explanation but I hope this is good enough.
Other wise ask your health teacher for more info. They probably have a video or something.

The blood from a period contains a lot of sloughed-off tissue from the lining of the uterus.
Any woman can tell you that very little of her "period" blood looks like 'regular' blood from a wound. The blood from a period is usually much thicker, has a clotted appearance, is much darker, and often contain bits of tissue in it, along with some 'regular' blood.
So neither you nor your friend are completely right.

No. You are wrong. The blood from your period is blood from the lining of your uterus. The blood that runs through your veins is the blood that you see if you get a cut.

No. Although the erythrocytes (red blood cells) are the same, the bible clearly differentiates at least 3 types of blood:

1) that from an unclean woman (10 foot pole rule)
2) that from an unbeliever (to be spilled)
3) that from Christ (to be drunk)

If you're not a Christian, then the obvious answer is (d'uh) yes, of course. Blood is blood. But menstruation has a little bit of uterine lining thrown in for good measure. Mmm...

You are correct. How would the blood be different? It is taken (due to the actions of two hormones, LH and FSH) to build the endothelium inside the womb, then fertilisation does not occur so you bleed out again. Simple physiology I tell you!

well i've known that doctors can tell which one comes from menstruation, I guess it must have something distinctive, as in a special concentration of certain elements
