To second the charity remark: I bought my folks a goat with World Vision last Christmas. My parents used to run a goat farm when I was little, and so the goat seemed fitting. It didn't go to them, though. It went to a family in Africa that needed the goat desperately to survive.

Note that I am not Christian and that World Vision is a Christian charity; I researched it in independent sources and found that it was reputable in terms of actually giving an animal to a family with my money, and the religious aspect of the charity did not bother me, as I was helping a family in dire straits to feed themselves.

I'd encourage you to do something like that for your folks, honestly. My parents said that it was the best Christmas present they had ever received -- and they meant it. If you haven't got the money by yourself, pool it with your sister. Trust me; that sort of gift will repay your expenses many times over.

This really hard as I not know anything they like. Flowers, Fishing, Cooking??? Just get your mom and dad something within your budget that they enjoy doing. Your sister give a good size rock, HA! Yes, it fun, just have her a good gift hid. I gave my brother a rock once and it was great, he kept shaking the box and saying how heavy it was, trying to guess. He would ask; "What is it"? and I would say; "It a rock"! When he opened it on Christmas Day, you should have seen his face. He said; "It's a Rock"! I said; "That what I kept telling you"! Then I give him his real gift to open.

Baskets. You can get them cheap at Michael's or any craft store. Then you have a lot of fun filling the baskets with things they like. Doesn't have to cost much. We went to the 99 cent store. Here is an example. Hot Chocolate, Tea, stuff to make smores, soup cup, soup, crackers and cheese. You get some wrapping paper or cellophane and just sit basket in middle of big piece and bring it together and tie with a nice bow. It is easy , fun to make, cheap , and the people you make the baskets for love them because you obviously put some thought into their custom basket.
