Think about this: let's say the 24/7 store happens to go out of business. A new business takes over which is NOT a 24/7 store. By having locks, the new business is able to lockup during non-business hours. It doesn't make sense to build a building without some type of locks on the doors.

That is a very good question and something that I never really thought about. Maybe in case of emergencies, like absolutly noone can work, or a snow storm that knocks out the electricity and that have to shut down the store. And they possibly could be closed on Christmas.

It's in case they get robbed. They will lock the door after the criminal has left and not allow anyone in or to leave until the police come.

Think about it what happens if you are the only one there (as a worker) and you get sick and have to go to the bathroom you cant leave the door open if ther is no one to mind the cash register.
Just my thought

The keep them locked so they monitor who enters the store. Too many robberies I guess. Or they are in the washroom or back room.

I never thought about it. But I would think all stores are required to have locks.

They expect the unexpected. The same when you build a house and put up a wall with a gate when you know crime rate is zero.

I think it is in case something unforeseen occurs and they would have to shut down operations. This has been asked before. Why not check out the other answers?
