Not difficult if you want to move to the boondocks to get a job. Those jobs are readily available (and pay about as much as flipping burgers).
I would suggest you get some endorsements in coaching and/or special ed. That will improve your chances of getting hired.

It isn't hard as long as you're not too picky. English jobs are abundant in small towns and inner cities. They are either really boring or really dangerous so not as many people want them. However, if you do one year there, it is a lot easier to move into another school.
My husband just started teaching this year and got three job offers out of twenty interviews. All three were on the outskirts of a major city (we're outside of Houston). There were plenty of openings in the rough areas of town, but he didn't want to interview there except for his last resort.
