We don't want to use a condom, but we don't want to get pregnant, either. What is a sure way NOT to get pregnant using other birth control besides condoms?

the ONLY 100% effective method is abstinance.
However, using a birth control along with condoms leaves very little room for screw-ups. If you don't want to use condoms or are allergic, you can try other barrier methods, such as a cervical cap along with spermacide.
Why not look into using a simple birth control, like Nuva-Ring or Ortho Evra? I wouldn't recommend the injection (Depo-Provera) to anyone, as it causes too many problems...however, if you don't plan on having any children in the near future and don't mind gaining some weight, possibly losing hair, becoming moody and battling depression, then this could be the BC for you!! lol (please don't use it!!)
You can also learn about natural family planning, in which you will need to abstain from sex for about a week out of every month in order to miss your fertile time...this takes quite a bit of planning, but is pretty effective. You need to be well organized though and not mess up!! You will need to continue using condoms while you learn about your cycle, though, and learn when your fertile time is and when you ovulate (this works only if your cycles are normal, btw) You also need to be a little bit open to becoming pregnant, because if your cycle varies, you could get pregnant.

Talk to your doc or ob/gyn about how these methods work and find what will be best for you and your lifestyle.

Condom is to restrict the sperms to get inside the vagina and at the same time protests from STDs, gives the boy a longer session of intercourse and delays the ejaculation as the penis head gets less friction, and with ribbed condoms girls get more pleasure, with flavored condoms girls enjoy the oral job too.

There is no confirmed protection from birth control, as any time any of those can fail as we say birth, wedding and death cannot be programmed. However there are many options and varies according to choice. Vaginal contraceptive pills are excellent which is inserted into the vagina and it dissolves and kills the sperms for one-hour span! The most assured birth control is to have intercourse within 4 to 5 days after menstruation cycle is over and 4 to 5 days before menstruation cycle starts. But no one can give guarantee.

An overlooked birth control method that most people don't know about is an IUD. It's a tiny plastic device that is placed in a woman's uterus where it stays permanantly until removed by a doctor. Most forms contain no hormones, can't be felt by the woman, and when removed the couple can immediately try to conceive. It's one of the more popular choices in other countries but for some reason isn't as popular in the States. It works by helping prevent conception due to a foriegn object causing enough irriation to the walls of the uterus. It's perfectly safe in most cases.

female condoms are an option, but yes, a condom is the only way to be sure whether it be a male or female condom conbined with the use of birth control because condoms can break.

you should see your local health department for more information on the various ways to protect yourself.

also, other than abstinence, condoms are the only way to protect yourself from an STD that can change the rest of your life, but still they can fail, so think ahead and be smart about it, educate yourself before you do something you regret.

Unfortunatly there is no "safe" means of birth control that will hinder a pregnancy. Nothing is 100% safety proofed to avoid a pregnancy. If you do not intend to use a condom, then maybe the sponge, diaphram, or birth control pill can be used. My suggestion is if this person is not a spouse, boyfriend, but only a casual aquaintance, then you really need to sit down and talk about safe sex that can protect the both of you.

"Sure" way? None, really, save for not having sex. But. Yeah, anyway.

Note 99% effectiveness rate for IUDs. Somebody here mentioned they aren't popular in the States 'for some reason' -- see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalkon_shield for a probable explanation of why. I think some doctors remain skittish about them after that, but I don't know if that's reasonable skittishness.

I'd go with the pill and the sponge. Fairly low-hassle, low-mess, reversible, etc, and ridiculously effective when combined.
