I don't know how but I do know that some species of saltwater fish have been moved to in-shore freshwater lakes and have been able to adapt and actually grow larger than the ones left at sea. In lake Calaveras in Texas they have done that with several species and great results. Check it out for your self. http://www.alamoredfish.com/ Great Fishing!

Like I said I don't know the answer but I'm giving you something to help your research.

BTW. Why are you trying to get jellyfish into freshwater anyways?

Well it won't be immediate but if you slowly introduce a saltwater jellyfish to freshwater after many generations it is possible that it may adapt to freshwater conditions.
