I have this friend who wears alot of makeup and i think she doesnt think very highly of her appearance (probably why she wears so much) but she swims and I see her alot without makeup and I think the makeup is taking away some of the beauty. how can i tell her what i think? do i tell her what i think? oh and many other people have noticed this too. its just a really awkward thing to say.

Since she's your friend and it's in her best interest, I'd tell her. Especially since other people have also made the same comment. If you're worried that she might take it the wrong way, turn it into a compliment by doing this:
Wait until the next time you see her without makeup. Look at her face until she notices. Then smile and say, "You look really good without makeup on". Improvise from there, if needed.

I would definitely tell her! Something I would say is: "You know, you have great skin! I never knew how pretty you look without makeup!" Maybe something like that will give her a little confidence boost about her appearance. And maybe the others should compliment her too so that pretty soon, she might realize that she looks better with less makeup.

I know it must be weird, because you dont want to offend her.
So maybe compliment her on her look at the swimming pool-maybe get other friends to now and than mention something like- Wow! You look beautiful with makeup, BUT boy! you are naturally beautiful.
OR
may be just say to her at the swimming pool- I dont know why you wear makeup, when you have the most beautiful skin color. Good luck! I hope it helps!!!!

Some time when she is not wearing makeup (such as when she is getting dressed up to go out, but has not put on her makeup yet) tell her how gorgeous she looks. She may disagree, telling you that she isn't wearing any makeup, but then you can tell her that she looks really pretty without it.

Don't tell her she's pretty with less makeup when she actually has it on. When she is swimming without makeup, ONLY THEN do you tell her she is pretty with less makeup. It would be easier that way since she is already in the natural state.

When you are around her and she's not wearing makeup just say "You look really good without makeup on." Maybe she'll take the compliment and start wearing less/none.

When she's swimming... just simply tell her that her skin looks so great without make up, just say you couldn't help but notice how radiant her skin looks while she's swimming. She'll probably take the hint that she looks great with out make up. Good Luck!

yea it pretty awkward but if someone told me that ...especially a friend i would not be mad at all but thankfull for ur honesty... i think u shoud just come out and say it...there's no right way to put it...some girls feel real comfortable with a lot of make up on and wont change that,,,u just have to give it a shot ...good luck! :D

Take her aside and tell her kindly that you think she is attractive but that under all the makeup she is getting lost.
