The logic that you can be pressured was the same reason they wouldn't let women vote, they could be pressured by men. I don't really think it is fair that while politicians decide to mess up the world now, and to leave deficits that future generations have to pay for, to pollute the world for future generations, that the young people that will have to deal with the problems have no say. I think that 18 is a little to contrived, if you are aware enough to commit a crime and be punished as an adult you can vote as an adult. Why do we pick and choose what people are old enough to do. You can be sentenced as an adult as young as 12 or 13, vote and smoke at 18, drink at 21, drive at 16, consent to sex usually at 17 sometimes younger, we really should be a little more consistent, that is all I am saying.

How youthful one should be, according to you, to have the voting rights? The present law permits 18+ to vote in some countries!

No. In every state there is a legal age of consent. It's that way to protect the young who are still impressionable If the youth were given the right to vote and make decisions then we would have to take away the age of consent leaving teenagers vulnerable. Not all teenagers age at the same rate but by the time you're 19 it is expected that you are able to make adult decisions and accept the consequences of the decisions you do make and how they will affect you in your life.

It is time in the development of man that we allow children the right to vote on their future. Adults at present are forfeiting the future of our children, ruining their education to the point that our kids are 38 th in the world in math and science, saddling them with massive debt, and sacrificing the planet for present day luxury and life style. At present they have no say in what happens to them. It is time this changed.
