Consider the alternative, most likely whoever runs will run against McCain.
Hillary aint all that Left, Obama seems to signal hope, fair play, and the man is bright, articulate and engaging.
We need a President who is a diplomat, Not a Hawk or Dove. I think people see the potential for this in Obama more than Hillary.
Me, I will vote for Edwards, he is a principaled man and his wife is a rock. This woman made Cancer the minor issue when her husband was running last time. I really like her, and I find him refreshingly non pontificating.
If Obama was the vice on the ticket, I suspect we would have a winner.
I agree Obama needs seasoning, but I think he is a dish best served as the appetiser.
I would urge Edwards to choose Obama.
Contour is it? The question was not specious, but your comment certainly was.

He is well spoken, energetic and has little in his past that can be attacked. So he is an ideal candidate. On the other hand, he has never really won a serious election (he was basically unchallenged in his senate race) and his congressional record is not sterling. I think he will make a great candidate in either '12 or '16. I can see why people wouldn't vote against him, but I can't see why anybody would vote for him either.

Democrats are flocking to Barack Obama for the same reasons screaming teenage girls flock to Brittany Spears and Carrie Underwood. Brittany Spears is young, pretty, and has a commanding voice. Carrie Underwood is young, pretty, and has a commanding voice. Barack Obama is young, handsome, and has a commanding voice.
Rock stars are catapulted to stardom on looks and charisma; they know that, their agents know that. Barack is being catapulted into political stardom on looks and charisma. If the Republicans had Barack, don't doubt they would be "swinging on a star", too!
I believe the young man has more integrity than to be drawn into the political arena as a pawn by the Democrats or any other political entity.

I agree as a Democrat if he were to run I would not vote for him. I would probably vote for Hillary Clinton who has had more of a record behind her. I do like him though and I think Barack Obama would be a great vice president.

The media is treating him like a "rock" star. He's in the news because he is gathering a large following & is charismatic. I'm a democrat & am hoping that he doesn't run for president in 2008 - he is way too inexperienced.

I don't get it either. He hasn't done anything yet except try to do the whole GQ thing. Plus, he is biracial, but I suppose that this means black today. His political philosophy is horrendous and he'll never get my vote.
