I kept hearing rumors that there is a tougher final fantasy game is on the internet somewhere. I like playing final fantasy...but it would be nice to play a tougher version. Do you know anything about it?

I've not heard of there being a harder version online-but there is a Final Fantay MMORPG.
I can tell you that the Japanese versions of the games are harder because of carrying restrictions, and you don't have other items that are available in the US versions. The later PS1 versions and the upcoming DS Final Fantasy releases are the Japanese versions and should be a little more challenging than the US versions because of that.
You could also try going through the games faster so you're not at level 99 when you reach the last chapter and the final bosses are scared of you ;)
