ok I am a bit slow when it comes to computers some what but I need someone to tell me step by step how to restore my Gateway laptop the problem is I have spywear on it and I have already purchased anti-virus and spywear softwear but it is saying that I need to get rid of the Norton that is already on the computer well I thought I got rid of it but something is locked in or something where there is no icons or anything that says Norton but it is still there and stopping the new softwear from working right and I don't know where my restore cd is but it gives me the option to burn a new one I'm also not sure how to do this either please help I have only a few strands on hair let on my head thank you in advance

If antivirus and spyware remover software does not work, you can try to restore the computer to an older working configuration. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html

dear just insert the norton anti virus CD and first uninstall the norton software thenonly you can install a new software(antivirus)

donot remove it from the add/remove programs in control panel as that does not remove the whole of norton entries.

if you donot have norton original CD try connecting to the internet and uninstall it

1 you dont need to restore ur pc b/c of spyware / download this then dc ur net cut that off then install this software and scan ur pc with them 1 at a time and all da spyware will be off

download that / remove ur net and scan

avg antispyware
spybot search and destory

spyware doctor
xoftspy
