Several things can cause such erratic periods. I would investigate the situation further as it could be something that will compromise your reproductive health in the future such as polycystic ovaries.

If it turns out that you are just naturally irregular or it's do to something not expicitly medical, like stress or eating habits, you could always try the pill. If you feel you could be sensitive to the hormones associated with such medication, there is a lot of new low hormone options available like yasmin.

While it may not help the PMS you will at least have a regular period, which will give you piece of mind every month about not being pregnant.

I hope this helps!

I had the same problem. Ran every test possible. Everything came back "normal". Everyone, and I do mean everyone - doctors of every specialty, gender and persuasion told me Birth Control Pills would help. Tried that in vain off and on for two years. Bled for 8 months straight - and it didn't help any of the other symptoms. Swore I would never try them again. So I dont know what to tell you about that, I do know some women who have tried it and it helped them - I'm only telling you of my experience in case it didn't help you, you would know that you weren't alone.

The only thing I have found that has improved my quality of life overall - is cutting back on caffiene (I only have two cups of coffee a day now) (it seems to help with the breast tenderness) and excercise (Specifically yoga - it seems to help me between the ears the rest of the month, and I think being more even keel the rest of the month helps me accept that I'm being hyper-irritable when PMS'd - and it helps me not react as quicky when I'm feeling Growl-y and Ornery.

Sounds like a hormonal imbalance. Try some progesterone cream- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon a day. Works wonders.
You can take an online quiz to see if you could have an imbalance

Hormonal imbalances don't only happen to menopausal women- women as young as their 20's have this problem, too..
