My best friend and i are both in the same physics class in college & her father is the instructor. I have known him for 3 yrs. He always seemed cheerful and happy but now he just seems depressed & sad. One day in lab I heard my friend say for whatever reason, "just shut up dad you're a total geek." Another day in lab she told him to "Drop dead" because SHE screwed up on an experiment, so he gave her a sad look and walked off. I go to her house sometimes where she is really mean to her parents. Her dad doesn't play favorites to her in class just because she is his daughter. She got a D on one of her tests & that day I was at her house, she griped at her dad & he told her to be quiet because he had enough so she screamed at him "I hope you DIE dad!" She does it all the time. In lectures, sometimes he looks like he cried tears before class. Im kinda worried he might be suicidal. My question is can you kill your parents by telling them you hate them & that u hope they die every single day?

If I may use an example from Christianity, remember that God created the world with words. words have a lot of power. She needs counsel ling and prayer. Thoughts associated with death and gloom need to be examined. Or she may harm herself or someone else. Please try to speak to her dad. Remember that those who are destructive hurt themselves the most. People are blessed to have friends like u who care but make sure that u don't get emotionally involved in the matter. Hello, This girl needs a serious time out. She has no respect for her dad or mom. No parent should have to put up with such an ugly monster for a daughter. They need to boot her a s s out of their home,and break all ties to her. Yes, a daughter from hell can make a parent want to take their own life.Specially when she's in his face all the time saying terrible things to him.

You call this girl your best friend? What kind of person are YOU?
But no, he won't die from his daughter being hateful to him. She certainly can have an impact on him, and it sounds as if she is hurting him deeply; but he won't die from that. Even if he were to commit suicide, it would be because of something inside him, not because of her. He makes his own decisions. It sounds like he is managing to hold his own in a difficult situation.

If this man is severely depressed (and who wouldn't be with a daughter like this?) he may actually become suicidal if she continues to berate him and be so hateful. Why in the world would you want this girl for a friend? She is evil! Where is her mother and what is her attitude about this situation? Can you speak with a counselor about your concerns toward this teacher? He needs help and so does his daughter.

Maybe.. I think they can die of depression, not really die, but their lives might be cut a little shorter or something, I don't know. I think your friend or her dad should go to therapy.
