An inmate cannot be denied medication if prescribed by a physician. This violates his rights He can actually sue the state (if he is in a state prison) or county (jail) for this.

Yes. Can a disabled inmate who is refused medication and being verbally abused sue the county where he is being held? Yes, through legal channels. An inmate's family or personal representative is required to contact legal representation. The county incarcerating the individual is not an agent for an inmate's legal defense and is not obligated to provide an inmate with such.

HE needs an attorney,he has rights and if he has no attorney he can be appointrd one it is his right to have one.If he tells his attorney then he can make sure his cival rights are not abused...As far as verbal abuse,i think that just goes along with the deal.If you know of an inmate that needs an attorney he can be appointed a public defender by law..Yes he could sue the county but its hard to do,but with an attorney it is possible(maybe).

they must provide treatment..but unless the medication is for a life threatening condition, they have the option to withhold it until it is RE PERSCIBED BY THE JAIL DOCTOR this is not right, but it is legal, the verbal abuse is illegal and should be documented through the grievance process at that jail and ALSO REPORTED TO HIS LAWYER.
so basicly until he sees the jails doctor he must suffer and there is no garantee he gets meds.
i have been under treatment for 10 years because i broke my back, yet jail doctor said i was "faking it to get drugs" my family and lawyer had to get a court order and provide my full medical records to get me even an asprin
