It is a red herring. Arab nations are using the suffering of the Iraqi people to futher a separate agenda, and the Palistinian question to justify violence in places other than Israel/Palastine.

It is an excuse for unjustified violence, and it is unfortunate that Arab leaders in other countries keep using the suffering of the Arabs in Palestine as a meanst to their own ends.

Here we go again. More detractors.

I would like nothing more then to see peace in that area of the
world and I know Israel would too.

With one exception, Israel has done nothing but defend herself.
That one exception was condemned by all. It was not an act
of aggression however, it was self preservation.

They took out an Iranian plant that was purifying Uranium.

During the gulf war, when Iraq should have been concentrating
on what we were doing to them, they attacked Israel with Scud
missiles. Israel could have attacked on a second front but didn't.
They exercised restraint and just shot the scuds out of the
sky.

I am sorry I didn't address the question as asked as I generally
try to but when I read the first responce I just had to respond
to that.

None at all. How important is peace for Israel tied to Stability in the middle east? Extremely. Want to know why Palistine and Muslims hate Israel, go do some research. There was no Palistine until a King who hated jews had all the maps chaged and made up Palistine to replace Israel. Israel had existed for 4000 years prior. Hayly and concerned are not well informed.
Israel was granted the right to exist in 1948 by the UN. The day after they were attacked by Egypt, Syria, Jordan. Israel won the war. In 1968 Egypt again attacked Israel and Egypt lost the Sinai which they later gave back. They kept the Golan Heights, West bank. Syria, Iraq, Iran have sworn to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Israel wants peace, but how do you have peace when your neighbors are swearing to wipe you off the face of the earth.
Prior to WWII the middle east looked different. Most of the Middle east supported Germany, they liked the idea of exterminating all jews. After the war the UN broke up the middle east into what it is now. And to those of you who think the gulf war was over oil you are wrong.. The US gets no oil from Iraq and only 19% of all imports are from the arab countries. IT was about the free flow of oil at market prices and not letting Iraq control 1/2 of the worlds known oil reserves by taking Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. GW Bush went in because the war was never over and Saddam was in violation of UN resolutions, Intelligence said he weapons of mass destruction outlawed by the UN resolutions.

I think that this is what the Bushies are 'offering' Iran / Syria as an under the table bribe for cooperating in our getting out of Iraq. Its a trading piece, we will to some extent sell out Israel in favor of the Palestinians in order to get the other two players to temporarily give up a bit of power over the situation in Iraq at least until we can extricate ourselves 'with honor' at which time everybody will renege on the agreement.

It's irrelevant. Palestine will never recognize Israel's right to exist. The Palestinians leadership has constantly broken all the treaties they have signed. Not only that but too many Muslims in the Middle East have a deep hatred for Jews. People think it might help bring stability, but they are dreaming.

The two are not connected at all. Smart people have been trying to link nations, events and conflicts in the Middle East for most of the last 100 years. There is no evidence that these two have anything to do with one another. (Good thing, too--Israel/Palestine peace ain't going to happen.)

The two issues are totally unrelated. There have been predictions that the Americans will sacrifice Israel as a way of retreating from Iraq.

This will not help anything and will send out a warning to allies of the U.S. that they will be abandoned when the going gets tough.

This must be resisted at all levels.

Not imprortant. There was stability in Iraq, and hostilities in Israel, and the other way around. Those two have nothing to do with one another.

Its the source of all hostilities in the region,American can not forever preach democracy, then look the other way while Israel has committed over 48 UN violations while America uses its veto on all resolutions condemning Israel. No our days of being two face in the region must end.

As usual it is important to the whole damn world.. but try as we might, they will never get along. I say let them fight it out until the end and every other nation just stay out of it. However, Israel does have the " bomb" courtesy of the U.S. and I am sure would have no thought about dropping it.. even if it killed most of the middle east.. so.. I don't know.. what to do about Palestine and Israel...can't figure them all out... they love to die... it's really dumb!
