I've needed to go to the dentist to have my wisdom teeth pulled for quite a while. I know I know I should have gone already, but I haven't, because I JUST got my new insurance.
And, I just found out that I'm pregnant. I know that I would probably have to be under anesthesia because 3 of the wisdom teeth are still like, inside my gums, and I doubt that I should be under anesthesia while pregnant.
Also, being pregnant has me nauseous and sleepy and feeling blah enough, that I REALLY would rather wait until after I have my baby. It is causing me a little bit of pain every once in a while, like my jaw gets sore sometimes, but I think I'd rather deal with it until after I give birth.
But, one of the pregnancy booklets I got says that going to the dentist is important while you're pregnant? I've never heard that before?
Sorry I know it's alot of questions actually. Basically, the question is do I HAVE to go to the dentist or can I wait?

OK so Yes you should go to the dentist to get checked out but if you have a low pain tolerance then don't get your wisdom teeth taken out until after the baby. My best friend waited and so did I and it was better that way for both of us so that we were able to take the pain meds and also because you are on a restricted diet its a good way to get a jump start on losing the baby weight :) Good Luck

When I was pregnant with my first, my OB strongly suggested I go to the dentist simply to check on the condition of my teeth. When I had my wisdom teeth removed, they were still in my gums also and they didnt put me under anesthesia they just gave me a shot of Nubain. It doesnt harm the baby at all. Im pregnant now, and I have to get my last wisdom tooth removed. If you can stand the pain then you should be fine waiting until the baby is born. If your gums are bleeding when you brush your teeth then I suggest you go ahead and go. I dont know how its important but everyone told me that bleeding gums during pregnancy means u gotta go to the dentist lol... maybe do a search online about it? Hope this helps

The x rays are ok. they are the style of low xray and that they are so concentrated that they gained't harm the toddler. i'm 8 months preggers and that i in simple terms had 2 the teeth that had to be pulled a month in the past. in case you're uncertain approximately something have the dentist call your physician to ok it by employing him. thats what my dentist did. and that i additionally had to have a filling and a pair of xrays with my first being pregnant.

Your book is right. You do need to go to dentist while pregnant due to your hormone levels (pregnancy hormones) and bacteria in your mouth loving those levels. The bacteria grows real fast and can cause problems. There are women out there that run into problems no matter how much they brush and floss and take their prenatal pills every day. Your dentist probably won't want to extract your teeth until after your delivery but would probably want to monitor your wisdom teeth and do your treatments and cleanings.

You don't have to go to the dentist while your pregnant, but it is a good idea. Dental problems can cause infections that can be very painful and could cause you other health problems. There are many things dentists can do while you are pregnant that will not harm your baby. I would go and talk to a dentist about your concern.
Hope this helps :)

Eww! I cringe at the thought. I'm not pregnant, but just thinking about going to the dentist while pregnant makes me nauseated. Good luck. I hope you will be able to wait until after the baby is born.

you really should get in for a cleaning and just talk to your dentist, they will probably let you wait to get any major dental work done until afterwards but they generally like you to come in every 3 months for cleanings when youre pregnant. There's a grant in CA that will pay for all the cleanings if your ins wont.

Here is my advice and this is real.
I had perfect teeth until I got prego. No cavities, nothing. I now have 2 pulled & about 10 fillings. Babies suck the calcium out of your teeth. Go to the dentist regularly & take calcium supplements.
Of all the advice I got, no one told me this & I wish they had. Best wishes!

You have to wait, unless necisarry your OB will not allow this (like constant pain) I had a root canal done w/ no pain reliver aside from baby orajel (the only thing safe) I should have just pulled the dam* tooth.
