I have personally had several so called ghostly encounters, and I didn't know it at the time. I had asked in two situations who was walking down a back hallway, when there wasn't one anymore (an old caretaker had fallen down a elevator shaft, then the building had been demolished, and the new building built on the old site). And the other one I saw someone looking at me through a window of a door that led into an elevator control room in a Post Office building that is quite old ( and there wasn't anyone in the stairwell when I went out and checked, and since it was 10 flights up, there is no way someone could have been there, and I wouldn't have been able to see or hear them going down the stairs). Both times I didn't feel anything like fear or anything malevolent, and I went and asked people who that was or what was that and they freaked out and refused to go into those areas anymore ( I have worked in Security for years, and did a lot of Night Shift). I used to bring Coffee and Doughnuts to the ghosts and say hello etc, but they never answered or anything, and the coffee would get cold, and the doughnuts stale, but I thought maybe the effort counted for something. You see, I don't believe in an evil force, and if there are discorporate spirits about, I don't fear what can't hurt me. As a matter of fact, I would love to talk to them, but they never seemed to answer me.

I currently live in one and have lived here for 8yrs and have experienced paranormal activity since day one. It creeped the begeezus out of me at the beginning and now doesn't bother me.
I have had so many things happen that it would be a novel to list them all. In the beginning, the entities affected me directly but more often than not, they didn't. I never communicated with any of them. The only time I ever had a peaceful encounter was not in a haunted house.
At first, it was invisible entities that were very touchy-feely especially when you were sleeping, or they liked to make noise, including in the ceiling which there is no access to and ungodly wailing from the basement. Recently I've seen faces in second story windows looking inside that appear very real even though there's no body attached or anywhere they could be standing. I've also seen what look like opaque "shadow people" that are running on a loop so to speak.
The creepiest experience was probably 6 months ago with a doll in the house. When I was a kid living in a different house, I was given a set of internationally dressed porcelain dolls that I hated and tried to get rid of them. I thought I did but I found this one in plain sight in the dining room which I couldn't explain. That night, I was awakened out of the blue by this gut feeling. I kept my bedroom door locked and all of a sudden it opened by itself and there was this Flamenco dancer doll that seemed to float toward the bed and she was lifesize compared to her original 6". She had this ominous green glow to her. No sooner than she came in, she vanished. Next morning, I went to get rid of her for good and she wasn't anywhere to be found.
I certainly don't have plans to stay here but the rent is cheap for the time being. Lately though, I've become used to it. Oddly enough, I'm the only person who has ever experienced anything of the sort here.

I have been to a house that is haunted. My friend used to live in the house and i went to visit him. He didn't tell me anything about the house before hand. He was giving me a tour of the house and everything was fine until we went to go into the family/tv room. The house had an open floor plan so there were basically no doors or walls seperating any of the rooms on the main floor. The room was really cold and I felt this overwhelming presence telling me to get out of the room. It was like walking into a place and you just know that you are not welcome there. I told my friend that i had to go and he said "you can feel it, can't you." I just looked at him and he turned to the middle of the room and shouted "she is fine, she can be here." Suddenly the room warmed up and the unwelcome feeling left. I asked my friend what was going on and he just shrugged his shoulders and said "the house is haunted - didn't i tell you?" Every other time i went to visit him i just avoided the room and nothing else ever happened.

I lived in a 100+ yr. old house for 32 yrs. From the time that I was 5 till the time my Pa died in the driveway when I was 37.
The house had allot going on.
It was like a portal for all kinds of spirits coming through.
There was a man that was a 'resident' and you could smell him and hear him walk right next to where you were sitting.
You could hear something like an old time radio playing if you knelt down at the back porch door right about where the doorknob was.
And if you stood next to the door that went to the stairs that was also next to the downstairs bedroom you could hear to older men talking back and forth..but you couldn't quite make out what they were saying.
There was also a young girl that would sing a nursery type song. You could hear her outside all the time and people would come over and ask who was singing out around the side of the house.
Sometimes the side porch door would come flying open like someone slammed into it as hard and fast as they could...and in fact that door took a small body slam just to get it to open enough to get your body through.
And there were times when things were falling off of the walls and the dogs would run outside and not come in the house for a day or two.
And you could feel the electricity....or what ever you want to call it.
After being there for 32 yrs. there were so many things going on that you just kinda didn't pay much attention to them anymore.
We had ALLOT of animals when I was a kid and when I was an adult too and there were allot of deaths there at the house.
I started writing on the outside of the house a 'marker' for all of the animals as they died...that way we could keep track of where we burried them so we wouldn't dig up one that was already down. The whole outside of the house just about marked when it was time to let the house go.
I really regret it.
But we had no windows for yrs. and the only running water we had was a hose from the well, (that I re-did myself, ((I'm proud))).
I sold the house a few months after my Pa died ...and the home that we have now has a few 'folks' around.
The person that bought the old house tore it down and gave the wood away but I did go back and take some pics in the dark and came up with a 'cloud type thing' that I got going across the pics that I took.
I also have some pics of orbs that I have taken at the cemetary where my Ma and her kin are burried and have an excellent picture of a woman in a long dress with a robe on with brown curly hair. I had to really zoom in on it but it is really awesome. You can see her just as clear as day...and underneath her you can make out a capital J and some smear and then a capital S and then the rest is smeared. But there is no denying that there is definately a woman standing there.

No never been in a haunted house, but have been in one which other people 'thought' was haunted. The majority of people who say they have been in a haunted house really think they have, but it is their mind playing tricks on them or unusual things may really happen, but 99.99% of the time it is not a ghost. There is always an explanation for strange happenings, but a lot of the time people cant work out what it is, so they just attribute it to being a ghost, which is usually wrong.

I've lived in 2.One was an apartment with a friendly spirit, who liked opening and closing the doors, turning on the taps, turning the tv and stereo on and off.The house, however was terrifying,We lived there for 29 days and moved in the middle of the night because something sat on the bottom of my legs.I was screaming and my husband heard a man's voice whispering in his ear to get out of house. We took our 3 year old daughter and ran for our lives. We saw red eyes peering in our living room window. The house was in the country and the closet neighbor was a mile away.My dog refused to come into the house.

Yes twice it freaks me out. An old house here in Ireland in fact a castle dating back to 1578 when young girl back them was not allowed to marry a local blacksmith. The story is her father found out she was going to run away with him, and had her killed. But some at the castle have seen her at night walking around making crying noise for her lost lover. Part of the castle was so cold and creepy. I never slept a wink the whole night. Another occasion staying at old house dating back to 1650s where witch craft was practice during that time. For some odd reason around this area it so depressing some people have in fact committed suicide at this very place.

I believe hauntings are demon activity. that out of the way (Demons can take anyform, and dead people can't stay around). I have been in three demon infested houses. My Dad's house (he let the demons stay there). I had nightmares for a while. no.2 house I heard noises. No. 3 house, I was held done. I was Wiccan then and nothing I tried worked, so I gave up Wicca, my house keeper tried Voodoo, that didn't work either (I believe that when you are Wicca, you use the power of satan and if you are dealing with demons, I really don't see how using their power against them is going to get rid of them).
