There is no direct train between Jammu & Nainital. First u have to reach Delhi.(Many Trains r there) From Delhi take the following train to Kathgodam:
5013 RANIKHET EXP
Leave DELHI 22:40PM Reach KATHGODAM 05:45AM
You will reach Kathgodam in overnight Journey & From Kathgodam Nainital is Just 36 Km. Outside Railway Station you can easily get Buses & Taxies. You can get anything to reach Nainital which suites your Pocket.

Your best bet is either to change trains at Delhi, or look for a bus.
