NOOOooooOOOOOoooooo.
It is like teaching the pig to sing. It doesnt work and it annoys the pig.
You will be bored, (unless you like sports then forget this).
He will be bothered that you are bored.
Neither will be happy.
Go shopping and offer to bring home dinner for after the game.

Only if you know the game and have at least some interest. If you watch because you have to, it will either put a pall on the game for him or he doesn't care that he is boring you as long as you sit slavishly next to him. Don't pretend to be something you are not - even if you see that quality in him - because having to keep up the act for a long time is crazy-making. You may want to learn what it is all about and why he and others are so nuts for the game, so give it a try. If it doesn't intrigue you, be honest and tell him you'll give it another shot next game and then go outside and dig in the garden. Then go to a garden show and meet the kind of guy you really want.

Sure. Doesn't matter whether she is actually watching the game, or just spending time with friends. I would advise she saves any questions for break periods in the game - half time, time outs, lunch break, or whatever is applicable to the sport. Other than that, it's a good chance to get the "in" on any guy talk, since they converse as a side activity to the watching of the game...
