Original or not, this is what you will do if after inserting the cartridge and not get the game started.

all our friends told us that it would make the games work better.
we would sometimes spend up to half an hour trying to get a game to work before giving up sometimes. some games were REALLY hard to start up.
it wasn't til years later that most people realized that our breath is naturally filled with moisture, and that it only made the brass contacts a better place for moisture to land.
the real trick to clean the games was to put a Q-tip that was damp from rubbing alcohol and rub the brass contacts - alcohol evaporates quickly
even then, the 72 pin connector eventually died and made connections with games beyond difficult, and bordering impossible.

oh, and by the way, my vote's for cartridge gremlin guy

I never blow on mine. If, a cartridge stop working I would take a Rubber Eraser and rub the Brass Contacts to make them shine again and it would work.

i dont like to blow on them as you can get moisture from your spit down in there. Instead use alcohol. A big trick to getting those sometimes flaky games to work is once in and pushed down pull it slightly back so it touches front of nes. This lines up the contacts.

You don't always have to blow; you can clean the dust out by just using a q-tip.

Dust, dirt, and the Cartridge Grimlins get in there so you have to blow them out of there so that it will work right. Damned cartridge grimlins....
