First thing to do is group by twos from the decimal point to the left. So you have 16.
Now, think any numbers that if you multiply by itself the product is not more than16. Your answer now is 4. Multiply your answer by itself you will get 16. Then 16 minus 16 the difference is 0. Now bring down 38. Remember you don't have exact divisor. So we will find now a number. There is a constant of 20. From your first answer of 4, multiply it by 20, the product is 80. So this is now your divisor. Then 38divided by 80 is 0, since 38is less than 80. So you have now the second answer of 0. From your 2nd answer of 0 multiply by 80 the product is 0. Then 38 minus 0 the difference is 38. now bring down 00. Your 38 now become 3800. We will make again a second divisor. From your answer of 40(4 from the ist answer, 0 from the 2nd answer) multiply it by 20 the product is 800. this is now your divisor. Then 3800 divided by 800 is 4 . This is your 3rd answer. Add your 4 to 800 the sum is 804. multiply 4 by 804 the product is 3216. 3800 minus 3216 the difference is 584(this is your remainder). Your answer now would be 4.04 r. 584. To check multiply 4.04 by 4.04 the product is 16.3216 plus your remainder of 584 the sum now would be 16.3800. Please try to understand because it is hard to explain it in the computer. I don't know how to put this in the screen. Thank you.
