If you are breaking into the field, focus of financial engineering and quant work. There is a lot of need for econometrics and financial modeling that utilize calc and stats.

I agree totally with the last answer for financial engineering and quant analysis work. You might also want to look into being an actuary.

if your degree is in statistics, one of the best jobs out there is for the us census bureau. working for uncle sam isn't all that bad, either. think about it and ask questions.
