Ironcially I have a hunch that I will find out what I want in life when I am about to die.

Basically what I have now, and maybe a little more:
love of friends, family, fiance and his girls
happiness
peace with self, life, and others
good relationship with all those I know personally
to have a job as a counselor or therapist of some sort (going to school now for this, so getting closer to this goal)
to continue to learn all I can from others, school, etc.
to make sure I have eniough money to pay my bills, but not necessarily be rich
to be the best person I can with others and in life
Of course, these things have changed over time, and will continue to change. That is life and human nature. Nothing or no one ever stays the same.

I know what I want, but what I want is not always realistic....I want my health back, can't happen. I want the love of my life back, won't happen, I want my sister to take a good look at herself and stop being so self centered, rude, snappy, and generally hard to live with, it will happen eventually if I have anything to do with it. I want there to be peace in this country and in the world....I want to know that everyone in America has a home and enough food to eat. I want to feel safe in my environment....Above all I want happiness for the remainder of my life....It doesn't have to be absolute bliss, just a little happiness in each day. I have this last one because I don't let all the other things get in the way of what is in front of me and in me.......

Start writing down the things you are pretty sure you don't want... like to be broke, or friendless or suffering from adiction, or abused... and do what you can to make those things not happen. With luck you will get to a place where you realize you want to simply be happy, will know what makes you happy, and will have the clarity and means to make it happen.

Yep.... I want nothing more than to see others happy with the things they see me do before I leave here.....
To touch another soul deep within so that they remember that I was here before I pass this way.... perchance that they may pass on what they have learned from me that the thought of my work will be remembered as worthy of report......
That's alot, but that's my hope.
prosper, all!!!!!
Your sister,
Ginger

I'm with kelrec: dinner! and fast cuz I'm starved!!
Truly, I don't. I thought I did but thru--of all things---spiritual insights, I've "seen" thru all of the things I thought I wanted.....every"thing" I thought I wanted is impermanent...the nature of life is impermanence..this question is one I've been thinking about and actually was going to post....
I guess underneath it all I want peace(something permanent---something that stays when everything else is coming n going) .
for now I'll have to settle for dinner.
