First of all, you can't compare the PS3's sixaxis controller with the Nintendo Wii's controller because the PS3 one can't even do half the stuff the Wiimote does.
I'm going for the Wii though, 'cos I really don't care if it can play DVD's or not. It probably has the best gameplay of all of them which is what a gaming console is all about in my opinion, not watching DVD's or all that extra distacting, price inflating stuff.
But my final verdict is that the PS3 will probably end up being the most popular again because of it's Blu-Ray drive, Blu-Ray is slowly picking up and the PS3 is gonna be one hell of a cheap Blu-Ray player with an added bonus of great looking graphics for the games(A treat for all those graphics junkies out there). The nintendo Wii might lose it's popularity when and if this happens. It's also quite possible that the whole Blu-Ray idea might fail and so would the PS3 leaving the Wii and the Xbox 360 to battle till the end.If you noticed, the Xbox 360 is just going to be there behind the scenes reaping its profit whatever happens because some people might find comfort in the one that has been around longest.
But just so you know, I'm gonna buy a Wii..... 'cos it's fun!!!

It depends on what you're looking for. The Wii has the lowest end of the graphics, but has some of the best and most innovative gameplay with some of its games The graphic quality is about twice that of the original XBox, however. The 360 has the best online gaming powered by XBox Live, and being out for a year longer, it has more titles available. The PS3 has the best graphics processor, however it also has the highest pricetag and only 1 good launch title thus far. Some of the PS2 games aren't compatable with the PS3 as well.
Personally, I prefer the Wii, it's affordable, and the gameplay is excellent. The controls have a learning curve at times, but once that's done, it's great fun to play. You do have to be careful with Wii Sports though, I've had some tendanitis issues from playing too much.
I also forgot to add wireless connectivity. There's going to be support of DS connectivity with the Wii.
The types of games you like to play are also a factor. If you like FPS games, I would get a Wii. The controller is reminiscent of lightgun controls from Arcade machines, and make aiming very intuitive. It fares a little more poorly in terms of action games, but once the learing curve is passed, again, it's good.

PS3, it can do everything the Wii can do and more. It even has motion sensors, like the Wii (it is the main controls for the game Warhwk) Theres also Blu-ray disc drive, which normally costs $1,000, thats whyy it costs so much. With memory stick slots on the PS3 makes it easier to transfer videos music & photos onto its 20GB or 60GB hard drive. It also can play PS2 and PS One games, and dvds. The wii cant even play dvds! It has you can also go on the internet and it even has its own instant messeging program, and the wii doesn't. If you have a PSP your able to hook that up to the PS3 and tranfer files from your PSP to the PS3. You will also be able to use it in more many different things in games (like as the controller and rear view mirror in Formula 1). Plus theres games like Resistance Fall of Man, Madden, and Warhawk (which uses the motion sensors). If there are and glitches or problems i'm sure you will be able to fix them with the system updates, just like the PSP has. It may cost more but that's only cuz you are gettin more and at a better quality.
